Center Alignment & Creative Expression

When aligned yourself with what centers you, you will find a greater sense of creative expression.

In order to experience this, you must first discover what centers you. I’ve outlined my heart’s calling in a previous post and that calling…which took two years to articulate, is the backbone that guides my thoughts, activities and interactions. You have to know yourself and your heart’s true  desire to find the center of yourself.

What is your heart’s calling? Perhaps you can relate to mine. However, in order to truly know your own, you must write an original one out for yourself. What does your heart say?

My heart’s calling in tied into expressing myself authentically, intentionally and artistically in everything that I encompass. It involved living a very specific life which involves meditation, yoga, breathing and constantly tuning into my higher sense of self.

I use my heart’s calling to help determine if a friendship or relationship is beneficial for my life and soul. When thinking of a friend, I have to ask myself, can I be my authentic self with them? Can I be artistic without any fear of judgement, negativity or thieft of my expression? Can I embrace my breath when in their presence? If I cannot embody my heart’s desire in the midst of a relationship,  activity or thought, I have to let that situation or person go.

By constantly embracing my heart’s calling and remaining diligent in that journey, I find that it leaves room for my spirit to grow. Because I am surrounded by love in my friendships and relationship; because I spend my evening volunteering, baking, dancing, etc; because I’m constantly nurturing my soul….my creative expressions grow and grow. I find myself trying new recipes, new forms of dance and taking healthy risk in my relationships.

If I were not intentional with staying present in my heart’s calling, I would not discover greater creativity. If I spent all of my evening updating my status on facebook, watching reruns and eating bonbons, I would not grow as an artist. This is my story. Perhaps in your heart calling, which lends itself to social media and enhancing it, it’s best for you to spend hours on facebook networking. That is not in my heart’s calling. Facebook is one example and should not be singled out.

The point is, when I stay aligned with what centers ME, I find a greater sense of creative expression for MYSELF.

Do you want to find a greater sense of expression?

  1. Articulate your heart’s calling ~ This will always bring you back to center.
  2. Align your life with your calling ~ Every moment should be lived according to that calling.
  3. Discover ways to go deeper within that calling. ~ Become an expert in your calling. Give your time, energy and self to that calling.

Because I want to spend my time being creative, artistic, authentic and intentional, it means everything that I do, think, or say should be aligned with it. It means I should read more, write more, try new activities, watch a performance, engage in uplifting conversations..and the list continues. Through this I grow as an artist and I nurture my soul.
