Organic Berry Crumble

by SLY on August 21st, 2010

There were left over berries in the kitchen at work. I decided to take them home and make a crumble.

INGREDIENTS

FRUIT MIX – I’m not sure of the exact amount. It was what was left over. There were more strawberries than blueberries. I know that much.

Blackberries
Raspsberries
Blueberries
Strawberries

Organic Cornstarch – enough to lightly coat

Raw Turbino Sugar – enough to light coat

CRUMBLE MIX

Oatmeal – about half a cup
Whole Wheat Flour – about half a cup
Brown sugar – about half a cup
Turbino raw sugar – about one fourth a cup
Cinnamon – how ever much you like
Butter – about six tablespoons
Flax seed – not sure how much I put in. I also used a mixed berry blend.

A pinch of salt

PREPARATION

Combine flour, sugars and cinnamon in a bowl. Stir together. Add in your oats and flax seed. Add in your room temperature melted butter. (I forgot to let the butter sit out and microwaved it for a few seconds. Oops. Don’t do that.)

In another bowl pour all of your fruit. Add in your cornstarch and sugar. Pour the fruit mix in your baking pan. You can really use whatever you have. Then pour your crumble on top. Bake in the oven on 350 for about thirty minutes until its bubbling! Once its out the oven add a pinch more of cinnamon. Eat hot, cold, and/or with ice cream! Enjoy!
