Curly Holiday Hair Tutorial | Pantene

For this holiday season, I was given the chance to use Pantene products including items from their Pro-V Truly Natural Collection to style a unique look for the various holiday parties and celebrations going on. I’ve been excited and very curious to try this new line of products by Pantene because Pantene was the first brand of hair products I used when I decided to wear my hair naturally curly almost 10 years ago. After all these years, its amazing that Pantene is considered the World’s #1 Hair Care Brand and that through it all they are dedicated to keeping every woman’s hair healthy, shiny and beautiful. If one things for sure, I’m always asked by naturalistas how to get that shine and sheen in their hair. Pantene doesn’t disappoint.

For this season’s Curly Holiday Hairstyle, I was going for a “Carefree Bohemian Updo.” You can reference my “Holiday Hair” pinterest board to see what I was going for. It was to be a pinned up style with intentional flyaways and cascading curls that appeared sophisticated, chic, easy-going and stylish.

THE PREP

In order to prep my hair for the “Carefree Bohemian Updo”, early in the week I washed, detangled and conditioned my hair with the Pantene Truly Natural Co-Wash Cleansing Conditioner, Clarifying Shampoo and the Deep Conditioner. Next, on wet, unstretched hair, I used the Defining Curls Styling Custard to style my hair in two strand twists. I also added the Shine Serum with Argan Oil, the Ultimate 10 BB Creme and the Advanced Keratin Repair Keragloss Oil Mist onto my twist as well. I must say, I like how my hair feels. There is a shine and my hair looks healthy!

THE HOLIDAY STYLE DEMO

Using the Shine Serum with Argan Oil, the Advanced Keratin Repair KERAGLOSS Oil Mist, the Pantene Pro-V Stylers Hairspray and a few bobby pins I proceeded to created by “Carefree Bohemian Updo.” Please enjoy the Curly Holiday Hair Tutorial video to see how I created my look. The only product I did not use in the collection so far has been the No Crunch Curls Whip.

What do you think about the style? Would you wear this to a Holiday Party? I like it. I would add a few accessories or maybe some glitter or something to give it an extra holiday sparkle but I love it. This style is also perfect since it keeps raining and/or snowing throughout the week. If I had worn my hair in a twist out style…it would have immediately turned into a matted fro.

THE PRODUCT REVIEW

Overall, I really liked the Pantene products. The clarifying shampoo was good enough to substitute for other clarifying methods I use. And I really liked using the Co-Wash Cleansing Conditioner as a detangler as well. I am very big on deep conditioners and am constantly searching for the perfect one. Pantene’s Deep Conditioner worked really well on my hair. What I was more intrigued by was the Shine Serum, the BB Creme and the Keragloss Oil Mist. My normal hair texture is…tight with my hair shrinking about 80%. My hair gets super dry and tangled fast and I’m always looking for ways to manage my hair better. With the various oils and mist plus the Styling Custard I was able to get my normal styles plus an extra shine with my hair. To date, I still have to try to crunch curls whip? Maybe that might work on a wash and go?
