“Sheena is a creative, thoughtful writer who is passionate about her subject matter. She has the ability to use her own personal experiences as a platform for connecting with larger cultural trends, and therefore reaches a wide audience with her writing.”
~ Claire Griffin Sterrett, Author of The Pole Story and Former Editor of Vertical Art & Fitness
I became a writer at the age of 7 when I wrote my first fictional short story called “Fruit Town.” Since then, I’ve never put my favorite pens down. Whether I’m writing one act plays, journal entries, magazine articles or creative non-fiction, my heart is in every word.  My favorite topics to write about are personal development, empowerment, relationships, sexuality, spirituality and performance art.
Along with writing all the original content on SheenaLaShay.com, I also write for a number of websites such as Crazydopetastic, Owning Pink, Curly Nikki and Vertical Art & Fitness Magazine. Please direct all inquiries to Sheena@sheenalashay.com. I am available to write for your website, blog, and/or magazine.

GUEST BLOGGER & CONTRIBUTOR
I am a New York based Videographer specializing in HD videos that involve filming, post production and event videography. It is most important to me to capture your authentic story and experience as I shoot and edit your projects and events. Please direct all inquiries to Sheena@sheenalashay.com.
I was hired by Jennifer Sterling of Sterling Sweets to film her dancing for the One Billion Rising, V-Day campaign and a special exhibit at the Ossining Library and Ossining Arts Council in regards to sexual assault and abuse awareness and prevention.
I was hired as the videographer to film & edit personalized DVD stories of dance students of Sheila Kelley S Factor. The following video was part of the marketing promo used to show students what their final product could look like.
I was hired as the videographer and photographer to capture the private party of a client. The following video was simply an experiment to show the graceful and sensual nature of pole dancing. The client, her guest and various feminine empowerment leaders loved the video.
I was hired as the videographer to shoot and edit the promotional reel for The Art of Nia. The client received a DVD as well as a web compressed video for social media usage.
I was hired as the videographer to shoot and edit a promotional dance reel for 5 pole & sensual movement teachers. The intent was to share the story of strength, grace and beauty that they embody as they pole dance.
“Sheena Young is far and away one of the most talented, disciplined and thoughtful stage managers I have worked with to date. She expresses herself clearly and is exceptionally organized. As a stage manager I recommend her highly, as a colleague and friend I am grateful to know her. Her energy is warm and inviting and she will get any job done no matter how daunting, and she will do so with grace and apparent ease.”
~ Catherine Glynn, Actress, Consultant, Entrepreneur
I am a freelance, non-equity stage manager based in New York City. I have worked as a stage manager for 11 years for a wide range of productions, theaters and projects. I’ve worked for award winning theaters such as Redmoon and I’ve worked with award winning and critically acclaimed producers, actors, directors and writers. One of my latest projects involved working with two time Emmy winner Sandy Marshall, 7 time Tony winner Jules Fisher and the amazing set designer Alan Muraoka, who has credits such as Little Miss Sunshine.
Whether I’m working on a one man show like Max Maven Thinking In Person or a musical such a Bare, A Pop Opera or experimental, physical puppet shows such as Boneyard Prayer that literally involved me shoveling 800 lbs of dirt, sand and peat moss, I am 100% committed to bringing your production to actuality. Please direct all inquiries and resume/portfolio request to Sheena@SheenaLashay.com. Please see below for more reviews and links to my experience.
“In the time I was at Redmoon, I found Sheena’s work to be exemplary. Her sunny disposition, desire to excel, and her attention to detail would make her a benefit to any organization that values such qualities and I would be pleased and honored to work with her again in any capacity.
Her job as stage manager required her to manage all aspects of a theatrical performance while working with a wide variety of technical and artistic professionals. These are skills that would be easily transferrable to any endeavor and her creative and thoughtful personality will make her a highly valuable asset to any organization lucky enough to have her in it”

“Sheena is an extremely competent production stage manager who thinks outside the box and takes it to the next level. In addition to performing her regular duties, she wrote numerous well written blog posts about different facets of the production process for the play at hand, tweeted about it, and even helped to acclimate me to the world of tweeting. She also got her blogger colleagues to come to the show and blog about it as well. In her capacity as PSM, Sheena also ran the light board, and was our designated (and certified) fire warden, staff photographer, and all around company cheerleader. More than competent, Sheena is today. She is plugged in. Google her and you’ll know what a hip individual she is and just how connected she is. She gets great pride in her work and is extremely personable and is a fabulous team player. I can’t recommend her highly enough, and hope to have the privilege of working with her again in the not too distant future. PS She has a great smile and dresses to the nines!”
~ Susan Marshall, Producer

I love to journal. More than that, I love to use art supplies, scraps and found objects to create interactive, colorful art journals that inspire me to write. In addition to using mixed media for journalling, I use it for all kinds of crafts and projects. I do it simply because its FUN.
Occasionally, I host mixed media events, workshops and retreats. I absolutely love sharing this experience with other people and seeing their own personal style and expressions reveal itself. Please direct all inquiries to Sheena@sheenalashay.com.
