“Sheena Young is far and away one of the most talented, disciplined and thoughtful stage managers I have worked with to date. She expresses herself clearly and is exceptionally organized. As a stage manager I recommend her highly, as a colleague and friend I am grateful to know her. Her energy is warm and inviting and she will get any job done no matter how daunting, and she will do so with grace and apparent ease.”
~ Catherine Glynn, Actress, Consultant, Entrepreneur
I am a freelance, non-equity stage manager based in New York City. I have worked as a stage manager for 11 years for a wide range of productions, theaters and projects. I’ve worked for award winning theaters such as Redmoon and I’ve worked with award winning and critically acclaimed producers, actors, directors and writers. One of my latest projects involved working with two time Emmy winner Sandy Marshall, 7 time Tony winner Jules Fisher and the amazing set designer Alan Muraoka, who has credits such as Little Miss Sunshine.
Whether I’m working on a one man show like Max Maven Thinking In Person or a musical such a Bare, A Pop Opera or experimental, physical puppet shows such as Boneyard Prayer that literally involved me shoveling 800 lbs of dirt, sand and peat moss, I am 100% committed to bringing your production to actuality. Please direct all inquiries and resume/portfolio request to Sheena@SheenaLashay.com. Please see below for more reviews and links to my experience.
“In the time I was at Redmoon, I found Sheena’s work to be exemplary. Her sunny disposition, desire to excel, and her attention to detail would make her a benefit to any organization that values such qualities and I would be pleased and honored to work with her again in any capacity.
Her job as stage manager required her to manage all aspects of a theatrical performance while working with a wide variety of technical and artistic professionals. These are skills that would be easily transferrable to any endeavor and her creative and thoughtful personality will make her a highly valuable asset to any organization lucky enough to have her in it”

“Sheena is an extremely competent production stage manager who thinks outside the box and takes it to the next level. In addition to performing her regular duties, she wrote numerous well written blog posts about different facets of the production process for the play at hand, tweeted about it, and even helped to acclimate me to the world of tweeting. She also got her blogger colleagues to come to the show and blog about it as well. In her capacity as PSM, Sheena also ran the light board, and was our designated (and certified) fire warden, staff photographer, and all around company cheerleader. More than competent, Sheena is today. She is plugged in. Google her and you’ll know what a hip individual she is and just how connected she is. She gets great pride in her work and is extremely personable and is a fabulous team player. I can’t recommend her highly enough, and hope to have the privilege of working with her again in the not too distant future. PS She has a great smile and dresses to the nines!”

I have been doing some stage management and production shows for concerts and events but I am looking to be able to work on events in mainstream Chicago. Could you give me some tips on how to be a good stage manager and where I can start downtown?
With this video, you said that you were in Chicago before you got this show.
I am so proud of you.
Thank you.
