I’ve never been able to go back to Wheaton. The few times I did were difficult at best. Even working there for two years after I graduated was a challenge. I stuck to the theater and only made appearances on campus once a week.

It was there that all my perceived inadequacies serviced. I was wrong. I was a sinner. I wasn’t good enough. My thoughts weren’t christ like. Sometimes on that train ride into College Avenue, I’d have to surpress or manage panic attacks. Once a conductor even suggested stopping the train.

So after I left my job as the Box Office Manager, I never went back! I didn’t even go back for my five year reunion. Sometimes I even take the school off my resume completely. I was once told a company almost didn’t hire me because they saw their name on my resume. Le sigh. It’s not the point. Besides going there was my choice.

But I guess all these years later, I realize I went there because I thought they were “For Christ and His Kingdom” when really it was “For Their Agenda”. The things that they tell “Christians” are not Christlike. I’ll just leave it at that.

But today, One Wheaton has launched and it is now with such pride that I can attach my name to Wheaton again. That is ONE WHEATON!!!!!
